Michael Grundner

Michael works as a lighting designer since 1996. Since then he has been working in theatre, commercials and industry. Countless musicals and galas. For the summer festivals in Feuchtwangen and Muhr am See (both Germany) he has been responsible as Technical Director and Lighting Designer. He worked with Robert Dornhelm on AIDA at the annual Operafestival at the Steinbruch in St. Margarethen (Austria) This cooperation continued with TOSCA. Michael created the Lighting Design for the world tour of JOSE CARRERAS – IN CONCERT.  Musical theatre: GHOST (Stage Entertainment, Berlin), DON CAMILLO AND PEPPONE (Vereinigte Bühnen Wien – United Stages of Vienna), DINOSAURS – THE MUSICAL (Renaissance Theater, Vienna), FLASHDANCE (Musicalsommer Amstetten), LES MISERABLES & SHOW BOAT (Landestheater Linz) and THE WIZ (Deutsches Theater München), CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (Kammerspiele, Vienna – European premiere), LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, (Musicalsommer Amstetten), MISS SAIGON (Stadttheater Klagenfurt), THE FULL MONTY (Deutsches Theater München), CHICAGO, FAME, THE MAN OF LA MANCHA, MOSES and THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO (Theater St. Gallen). For the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien he also created the lighting design for A CHORUS LINE (Ronacher) and FORBIDDEN RONACHER (Museumsquartier, Wien). He was working many times with several directors Matthias Davids, Werner Sobotka, Kim Duddy, Martin Duncan and Andreas Gergen. To name only a few of the Musical-Galas and Concerts: LEADING MEN/LEADING LADIES, ABSOLUT UWE, THOMAS BORCHERT and JOSE CARRERAS – IN CONCERT. Further he has been the Lighting Designer for „Klangturm St. Pölten“. The „Soundtower St. Pölten” presents art in the sphere of electronics and light, through the example of radio-art and sound sculpture.
