Lilly Rottensteiner

Lilly was born and raised in Murtal, Styria, and graduated with distinction from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) in 2022. After receiving the special jury prize at the Walter Jurmann Singing and Interpretation Competition in 2021, Lilly made her professional debut at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich under the direction of Josef E. Köpplinger, performing as Baroness Bomburst in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. Since then, she has appeared on the Gärtnerplatztheater stage in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, DREI MÄNNER IM SCHNEE and MY FAIR LADY. In the world premiere of Thomas Zaufke and Peter Lund’s LIZZY CARBON, she portrayed the character of Sara at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna. At the VBW, she performed under the direction of Alex Balga in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR at the Raimund Theater; in the concertante production of ELISABETH, directed by Gil Mehmert, in front of Schönbrunn Palace; and most recently in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA as Cover Carlotta Guidicelli and Swing, also at the Raimund Theater. Lilly also held workshops for the VBW JUNGES MUSICAL and TAWUMM!, led the sing-along at the VBW MUSICALFEST in 2024 and 2025 and moderated the VBW EDUCATION DAY in 2026. At the Musicalsommer Amstetten, she played Widow Mehlwurm and the Old Lady in the world premiere of AUGUSTIN – THE MUSICAL, directed by Alex Balga. In 2025, she received 1st prize from the jury, along with eight special prizes from various theatres, at MUT – a renowned competition for musical theatre at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich.

Lilly will be performing until the end of June 2026 at the VBW as Cover Carlotta and Swing in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the Raimund Theater in Vienna, in July and August, she will be playing the role of Claire in the Take That musical THE BAND at the Musicalsummer Amstetten, and in the 2026/27 season, she can be seen as a part of the Kabarett Simpl ensemble in the new SIMPL REVUE – ALLES BLEIBT ANDERS, again in Vienna.
