Christian Schöne is one of the most distinctive voices and charismatic performers in German musical theatre. After completing his training at the Stage & Musical School in Frankfurt, he quickly rose to leading roles on some of the country’s most renowned stages.
He originated the role of „King John“ in the world premiere of Robin Hood and brought to life „Anastasius“ in Die Päpstin (*The Popess*) – a role he shaped over many years. He appeared as „Will“ in the world premiere of Nuremberg ’45, and he created the role of „Sarastro“ in Zauberflöte – Das Musical (*The Magic Flute – The Musical*).
His further major credits include „Sweeney Todd“ in Sweeney Todd, „Joe Gillis“ in Sunset Boulevard, „Roy Fire“ in Miami Nights, „Count Arco“ in Mozart, „King Ludwig II“ in Ludwig², „Lutz Grivius“ in Zeppelin, „Karim Schah“ in Der Medicus, „Rocky“ in The Rocky Horror Show, „Woof“ in Hair, „D’Artagnan“ in The Three Musketeers and „Zaza“ in La Cage aux Folles.
Currently, Christian can be seen in the Stage Entertainment production of We Will Rock You at the Palladium Theater Stuttgart, where he plays „Zuckermusk“ (formally known as Khashoggi) as principal cast.
In addition to his theatre work, Christian has performed in concerts with his own programs such as Schöne Lieder, Heller Klang, and with his live band in Fulda. As a composer and lyricist, he released several solo albums, including Fernweh nach Mir (2020).
His voice can also be heard on numerous original cast recordings, including Robin Hood (2021), Zauberflöte – Das Musical (2024), Nuremberg ’45 (2024) and Die Päpstin (2011).
For his artistic achievements, Christian was nominated for the German Musical Theatre Award in 2022 and was named “Best Actor” at the Tecklenburg Open Air Festival in 2023.
