Alexandra-Yoana Alexandrova was born in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1992 and grew up in Germany. After her Danish high school graduation with music and art profile, she studied Musical Entertainment Theater at MUK – Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität of the City of Vienna, while also pursuing a Master’s degree in Theatre-, Film- and Media science at the University of Vienna, after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2014 with a co-enrolment at the University of Applied Arts. Prior to that, she passed the acting diploma exam, also in Vienna.
Her last engagements included the Stage Palladium Theater in Stuttgart (Stage Entertainment) in the productions „ANASTASIA – Das Musical“ (Cover Anja and Cross Swing) 2018 and „GHOST“ 2019. In 2020 she would have been seen in the role Rosalia at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch in „WEST SIDE STORY“ if not for the pandemic-related cancellation. In 2020, she filmed the TV commercial for „HSE 24“ in Estonia and recorded the singing voice for the TV commercial of „PENNY Markt“. In 2021, she appeared in the TV show „I Can See Your Voice“ on the RTL channel in the role of the singing ballerina and in summer 2021 she could be seen at the Theater Ulm for the first time as Mina in Frank Wildhorn’s musical „DRACULA“ followed by 1st cover Ellen in „MISS SAIGON“ at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. In 2022/23 she took on her first two roles in Denmark, playing Ulla in „THE PRODUCERS“ and Ellen in „MISS SAIGON“ in Copenhagen. In the season 23/24 she joined the renowned musical theater company at Landestheater Linz where her first role was Rosalie Mullins in „SCHOOL OF ROCK“, followed by Suzie in „TOOTSIE“ and Maria Stuart in the world premiere of „DIE KÖNIGINNEN“ (The Queens). During the summer of 2024 she played the titel role in „MARY POPPINS“ in Thun, Switzerland, followed by Alice in the German Premiere of Frank Wildhorn’s „WONDERLAND“ again at Landestheater Linz.
She comes from an artistic family and is therefore very versatile in the profession (singing, musical, acting, dance, dubbing, songwriting and photography). She has performed in the following theaters, among others: Vienna State Opera, Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater, State Opera and Ballet Sofia, Stage Palladium Theater Stuttgart, Det Lille Teater Flensborg, Schauspielhaus Wien, Theater der Jugend, Schlossfestspiele Langenlois, Felsenbühne Staatz and many more. She has performed in several feature/short films, musical, dance and theatre productions. She has also taught classical ballet and hip-hop/modern dance – her private singing pedagogy work started in 2018. She has been booked as a soloist in front of the Danish Queen and the Danish Crown Prince couple. As a soloist of a gospel choir, she has been on tour in New York City (2009). In addition, she has done several internships as an assistant director in various productions in the theatre and film industry internationally.
