Andreja Zidaric is a young, award-winning Slovenian soprano who works in the genres of opera, operetta and musical.
The young singer has already collaborated with numerous renowned personalities from the world of music and theatre, including Josef E. Köpplinger, Franz Welser-Möst, Stephen Schwartz, Sir Trevor Nunn and Harry Kupfer.
Andreja Zidaric was the first Slovenian soprano to sing at the 2014 Salzburg Festival as part of the Young Singers Project.
At the 7th International Heinrich Strecker Singing Competition in Baden near Vienna, the aspiring singer won the 1st Prize of the Jury, the Audience Prize and the Special Prize – her participation in the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival.
Andreja Zidaric attaches great importance to precision and attention to detail as well as to a passionate embodiment of her roles.
Important roles of the singer have been: Monika in “The Medium”, Luise Lautner in “Schuberts Reise nach Atzenbrugg”, Rosina in “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, Gretel in “Hänsel und Gretel”, Kondja in “Die Rose von Stambul”, Blonde in “Die Entführung aus dem Serail”, Ottilie in “Im weißen Rössl”, Maria Anna in “Schikaneder”, Amber in “Hairspray” , Violanta in “Die Schattenkaiserin”, Königin der Nacht in „Die Zauberflöte“ /(The Magic Flute) and Maria in „West Side Story“.
Trained at the Music and Art University of Vienna, formerly the Conservatory of the City of Vienna, she completed the Department of Solo Singing in the class of Uta Schwabe and previously the Department of Musical Theatre, where she was taught by Michèle Friedman. She also received coaching from Patricia Nessy, soloist at the Vienna Volksoper.
