Anne Welte

The Saar lander Anne Welte studied at the renowned Stage School in her adopted home city Hamburg. Here she played roles in CABARET, FIFTY-FIFTY, IM WEIßEN RÖSSL (White Horse Inn) amongst others.  For her performance as Mme. Thénardier at the German premiere of LES MISERABLES in Duisburg she was awarded the first IMAGE-Award and received the Golden Europe. In 1997 she created the role of landlady Rebecca for the world premiere of DANCE OF THE VAMPIRE in Vienna, which she also played at the German premiere in Stuttgart in 2000. This was followed by leading roles in: A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, NINE, KISS ME KATE, SWEENEY TODD, 8 WOMEN, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, SOUVENIRS SOUVENIRS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

She is regularly on tour in Germany and a sought after guest on renowned cruise ships with her concerts IT’S SHOWTIME and LIFE IS A CABARET.  Her gala ANNE WELTE & FRIENDS takes place in Saarland since 2004. She is a lecturer for the the Stahlberg Foundation’s project MUSICAL@SCHOOL. She also teaches workshops at several schools for the performing arts. Anne Welte has been elected as one of the „50 important women of Saarland „.

Since 2008 she has performed in Tecklenburg in MOZART, 3 MUSKETIERS, CRAZY FOR YOU, MARIE ANTOINETTE , HAIRSPRAY, ARTUS-EXCALIBUR  and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER as well as SHREK and REBECCA. In November 2019 she will be part of the world premiere ensemble of WALLACE in Duisburg, Germany.
