Maricel

The author, songwriter and actress Maricel  was born in Hanover, Germany. After graduating from high school, she studied musical theatre and communications management at the ‘North German Academy for Marketing and Communication’. She signed a recording contract with Universal Music and a publishing contract with BMG-UFA.

As an actress, Maricel has enjoyed great success as Constanze in MOZART (Stella, Neue Flora Hamburg), Lucy in JEKYLL & HYDE (Metropol Theater, Bremen), Amneris in the German premiere of Elton John’s AIDA (Stage Entertainment, Colosseum Theater Essen), and Kit De Luca in the European premiere of Bryan Adams’ PRETTY WOMAN (Stage Entertainment, Theater an der Elbe) directed by Jerry Mitchell.

In collaboration with Mehr! Entertainment, she developed the stage play and musical comedy “08-16”, followed by the one-(wo)man-show, “MÖRDER UNTER SICH” in cooperation with Wolfgang Adenberg.

She also wrote books and musicals for children such as, „DIE HÄNDLERIN DER WORTE“ and „DER KLEINE ZAHLENTEUFEL“,  which were published by JUMBO Publishing (Hamburg). The plays were produced by Nimmerland Theaterproduktion as a Europe-wide musical theatre tour. The books „DIE HEXE HUCKLA UND DIE TOTAL VERRÜCKTE SPRACHMASCHINE“ and „DAS WEIHNACHTS-OSTER-DURCHEINANDER“ were published in 2010 and 2011. They were illustrated as audio books including a CD by Langenscheidt Verlag (Munich).The stage version of HEXE HUCKLA has been on tour successfully since 2010 and was also exported into a larger stage version at the Stadttheater Baden/Vienna. Both productions, “DER KLEINE ZAHLENTEUFEL” and “DIE HEXE HUCKLA”, were directed by Maricel.

Recently, Maricel’s historical musical „JEANNE D`ARC“ has successfully been performed as an „orchestra concert version“ at the Stadttheater Lüneburg and is now ready for its world premiere.
