Merle Hoch

Born and grown up in Hannover, Merle studied musical theatre at one of Germany’s most renowned art colleges, the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, where she graduated top of the class.

Merle played lead roles in different German theaters, including the National Theatre Mannheim and the Opera House Düsseldorf. She moved to London for post graduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music. She graduated in 2012 in musical theatre with distinction. Merle was first-cast „Jane“ in Disney`s Musical TARZAN, which she had been playing first in Hamburg (Stage Theatre Neue Flora) and since autumn 2013 in Stuttgart (Stage Apollo Theatre). Credits include: Sugar Kane in „Some Like It Hot“ (Theater Lüneburg), Rosalind in „As You Like It“ (Theater am Aegi, Hannover),  Betty Schaefer in „Sunset Boulevard“ (Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, Italy), Fran Kubelik in „Promises Promises „(Sir Jack Lion`s Theater, London), Nora in „A Doll`s Life“ (RAM, London), Nurse in „Abbey Road“ (National Theater, Mannheim), Chrissy in „Hair“ (Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, Italy), Ariel Moore in „Footloose“ (Theater für Niedersachsen, Hannover), Ivy Smith in „On The Town“ (TfN), Witch Hillary in „Hexe Hillary“ (Opera House, Düsseldorf), Maureen in „Rent“ (Pina Bausch Theater Essen), 

Merle is also appearing as a soloist on several Musical CDs, (e.g. „Märchenmond“, Wolfgang Hohlbein) as well as in short films (e.g. „Komparsen“, ARD).
