Benjamin Oeser was born in Annaberg-Buchholz (Saxony/Germany). After studying at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Bayern, he completed a master’s degree in music theater at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich, graduating with distinction in early 2017. He was a full scholarship holder of the German Stage Association and is a three-time winner (media, audience and 1st jury prize) of the M.U.T competition at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz/Munich.
After his studies in Munich, he performed at the Leipzig Opera (WEST SIDE STORY), the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen (LINIE 1 and BIG FISH) and the Emslandarena Lingen (LUTHER – the Pop-Oratorium), among others. In 2017-2018, he appeared in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. In the 2018-2019 season, he took on the title role in the world premiere of the musical PUMUCKL by Franz Wittenbrink, also at the Gärtnerplatz Theater.
His last role before the closures due to the Covid crisis was Dr. N. Frankenfurter in the ROCKY HORROR SHOW at the Landestheater Salzburg. In the 2021/2022 season, he created the leading role in the musical I FEEL LOVE at the Stadttheater Bozen under the direction of Andreas Gergen. In 2023, he played Otto Frank in the musical premiere of ANNE FRANK at Theater Mödling and appeared on stage in LAND DES LÄCHELNS at the Operetta Festival in Langenlois/Lower Austria in summer 2023. In 2023/24, he appeared at the Vienna Volksoper in the world premiere of LASS UNS DIE WELT VERGESSEN and in Hanover, Dortmund and Mannheim in the choral musical BETHLEHEM in the leading role of Joseph.
