Lukas Mayer studied at the renowned Folkwang University of the Art in Essen, Germany. During his studies, he performed in several productions at major German theaters, including Theater Dortmund, Theater Bonn, and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. In 2019, he won First Prize at the prestigious national singing competition Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin and was awarded a one-year scholarship from the Günther-Neumann-Stiftung.
Following his graduation, Lukas was part of the world premiere cast of Lady Bess by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay at Theater St. Gallen, Switzerland, where he created the role of Philipp von Spanien (Philipp of Spain). He went on to play Gabe in Next To Normal at Bühnen Bern, also in Switzerland.
While performing in Pajama Game and Die Dreigroschenoper (Threepenny Opera) at the Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen, he was honored with the audience award, the Kurt-Müller-Graf Preis.
Lukas then took on the role of Bob Gaudio – composer of the band „The Four Seasons“ – in the first German-speaking production of Jersey Boys. In the 2023/2024 season, he returned to Theater Dortmund as Angel in Rent, and starred in the title role of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Staatstheater Nuremberg.
In 2024, Lukas made his debut as Tod (Death) in Elisabeth on tour in China. He re-created the role throughout Germany and Switzerland and is now thrilled to return to China and share Elisabeth once again with audiences there.
