Rob Pelzer

Rob was born in the south of the Netherlands and trained in Amsterdam and Vienna. Workshops at RADA and Menier Chocolate Factory, London. His theatre credits include: the comedy Boeing Boeing (Joop) in Vienna, The Producers (Carmen Ghia) in Vienna and Berlin, world premieres of Ciske de Rat and Rex (Rex), The Last 5 Years, Pirates of Penzance (Frederick), The Lion King (Timon, Zazu and Ed) and Romeo and Juliet (Romeo) in Holland, Jekyll & Hyde in Bozen/Italy, Gigi at the Opera House Graz and the world premiere of Mozart! (alternate Wolfgang Mozart) in Vienna. He was also a soloist in a musical gala tour to Beijing. He joined the newly founded musical theater company at Landestheater Linz in 2012 where he played Honk (Cat), The Wiz (Scarecrow), Babytalk (Robert), Next to Normal (Dr. Fine/Madden), Showboat (Frank Schultz), Les Miserables (Thenardier), Company (Robert), The Who’s Tommy (Uncle Ernie), Singin’ in the Rain (R.F. Simpson), Grand Hotel (Otto Kringelein), Into the Woods (The Baker), Around the World in 80 Days (Passepartout), The Full Monty (Ethan),  in the German premiere of Ghost (Hospital Ghost), On The Town (Ozzie), Hairspray (Wilbur Turnblad),  Betty Blue Eyes (Gilbert Chilvers)  and Assassins  (Charles Guiteau). In fall 2018 he could be seen in Catch Me If You Can (Carl Hanratty) in Nuremberg and in the German production of Ghost (Hospital Ghost) in Hamburg. In February 2019 he created the roles of Dufayel and Collignon in the German premiere of AMELIE in Munich, followed by Guys And Dolls (Nathan Detroit) in Graz and Catch me If You Can (Carl Hanratty) in Darmstadt. In September 2020 he could be seen in Songs For A New World (Man 2) in Dortmund followed by Goethe! (Father Goethe) in Bad Hersfeld (also 2022) and Berlin Skandalös (Conférencier) again in Dortmund, followed by CABARET (Conférencier) in Düsseldorf and also in Dortmund. In the summer of 2023 he also played in Jesus Christ Superstar (Herod), again in Bad Hersfeld at the festival. 

Next he can be seen in Phantom Of The Opera (Mr. Andre) at the Raimund Theater in Vienna, Austria.

Television credits: voice dubbing for many dutch series and films. In 2017 he was awarded both the Richard Tauber Medal 2016/17, the audience award at Landestheater Linz and the German Musical Theatre Award for Best Actor In A Supporting Role 2017 for Around the World in 80 Days.
